Newsletter N° 15 - January 2011

Following the success of our newsletter in 2010, BoroChem has decided to renew the publication of its newsletter in 2011 and wishes you all the best for this New Year!

In our mind, the new year implies new products and new services. Therefore, in order to suit your needs and to celebrate the International Year of Chemistry, BoroChem will release the following new services:

BoroClassics: More and more active boron derivatives have been studied and their chemistry needs expertise. Our BoroChemists can synthesize those references for you.

Boromimics: Your IP must now include Boronated Species! Ask our Boron experts for an evaluation of the synthesis of boromimetics of your bioactive compounds.

Reach: Reach (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of CHemicals) has some consequences within the European Union on the use of boric acid and borax derivatives. Ask BoroChem for a R&D evaluation of your process to find suitable replacement compounds.

Uses of boron derivatives
BoroChem's boronic acids, esters and trifluoroborates offer a wide range of possibilities. The scheme below illustrates only some of them.

If your first instinct is to think of boron derivatives when creating C-C bonds via Suzuki cross coupling, do not forget that boron derivatives can also be used for the synthesis of ethers, ketones, amino acids, amino alcohols, etc.

The International Year of Chemistry celebrates the achievements of chemistry ; think about integrating boron derivatives in your research and in your laboratories.
